Lightpath Earns MEF Carrier Ethernet 2.0 Certification
All eligible Lightpath Ethernet services have received this important industry distinction, reinforcing company’s leadership position among 100% fiber providers in the New York metro area.
JERICHO, NY, August 24, 2016 – Lightpath, a division of Altice USA, a leading national telecommunications, media and entertainment company, today announced that its E-Line (EPL), V-Line (EVPL) and ELAN (EP-LAN) products have all received MEF CE 2.0 certification. Following rigorous testing across more than 250 test cases, all Lightpath Ethernet products eligible for certification have been deemed ready to meet the most advanced Ethernet demands of enterprise customers.
The CE 2.0 certification program standardizes the next generation of Carrier Ethernet requirements across scalability, reliability, quality of service and service management. CE 2.0 is designed to support faster and seamless deployments as enterprise customers develop more stringent requirements to meet advanced business needs.
“Lightpath was a first-mover in the delivery of Ethernet services ten years ago and recognizes the critical importance of meeting the latest standardization requirements,” said Christopher Rabii, SVP, operations and CTO for Lightpath. “As our customers begin to develop more complex network architecture needs, the MEF CE 2.0 certification demonstrates our continued ability to meet any deployment demands in pursuit of new business goals. Most recently, this includes adding the capability to expand WAN connectivity outside of the Lightpath footprint while still enjoying the high level of service that they get from us today.”
Lightpath, a market leader in Ethernet-based communication solutions for New York metropolitan area businesses, remains committed to its close alignment with MEF and its vision for high-quality, reliable and standardized delivery of Ethernet services. The company’s relationship with the organization spans more than a decade, with Lightpath establishing itself as an early market leader in exclusive sales of Ethernet in 2005. Lightpath has previously been named North American Regional Service Provider of the Year by MEF.
“MEF congratulates Lightpath on the outstanding achievement of meeting the demanding performance requirements of MEF CE 2.0 certification for all its products,” said Nan Chen, President of MEF. “CE 2.0 certification not only demonstrates the ability of Lightpath to provide the highest quality of standardized Ethernet services available today, but it also creates a foundation for future service innovation that is required to address the evolving, demanding needs of the digital economy and the hyper-connected world.
